ANDstudio was commissioned to reimagine a dated 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom waterfront apartment in Coconut Grove’s iconic Grove Isle for a bachelor from NYC who recently made Miami his home. Designed to reflect his lifestyle, the space balances masculinity and warmth, featuring rich wooden finishes, sleek steel accents, and a thoughtfully curated ambiance that feels both modern and inviting. The 1980s building presented several challenges, from low 8’-0” floor-to-ceiling slab clearances to inconveniently placed electrical panels and plumbing stacks. Undeterred, we pushed the boundaries of design and functionality to create a refined, cozy retreat that maximizes openness, enhances natural light, and frames breathtaking water views from every room. A versatile flex room was also integrated, serving as both a home gym and an indoor training space for cycling, ensuring peak performance without compromising the apartment’s seamless aesthetic.
